Use tables to present tabular information and not for layout.
Use appropriately labeled row and column headings, correctly tagged for accessibility.
Avoid creating cells that span more than one row or column. "Regular" tables with
each cell belonging to
exactly one column and one row are easier for both sighted and non-sighted users to
understand.
- If needed, repeat information in multiple cells.
- Or, consider reorganizing the information, possibly in multiple tables.
